So I decided to change the focus of this blog to something I am passionate about. I love my books and I love reading. My mother tells me that since the time I could read there hasn't been a time that I didn't have a book on the go and often I'll have a few of them on the go. So I thought this was a good place to start recording my thoughts o the books I read, for me this is my online book journal.
I recently finished reading Anderson Cooper's book "Dispatches from the Edge", while it's a short book (only a few hundred pages) it's definately worth the read. He explores his feels after his brothers death, something I could relate to after losing a girlfriend when I was 16 years old. I think though the area that effected most was his writing about New Orleans and hurrican Katrina. I have been to New Orleans and to see the defistation on TV really effected me, so to see it in person I can only image. How Anderson Cooper writes though gives you a true perspective on the suffering and frustration that the citizens of New Orleans have felt and are likely still feeling.
Thank you Anderson for writing a book that explores the tradegy and hopefully you were able to give some comfort to the people you met along the way.
For everyone else, the book is well worth the read. Take the time to get it from the bookstore, or the library I'm sure it will effect you as it has me.
'til next time
